Seemingly a “thousand miles” from civilization and the bustle of today’s busy life, Marble island can be comfortably accessed in a couple of hours flying time from any state capital on Australia’s eastern seaboard.

With its own airstrip, the island is easily accessed from its two main regional getaways, Rockhampton and Mackay. Both centres are connected by several jet services daily to all Australian capital cities by leading commercial carriers Qantas, Jet Star and Virgin.

Airport 05

The island operates a Britten-Norman Islander aircraft out of Rockhampton, which will carry six passengers comfortably with luggage and supplies. Please contact Rockhampton Aero Club regarding charter for this aircraft or a smaller craft. Contact phone number:
07 49224596

Otherwise please contact a local charter company in Rockhampton, Mackay, or even Brisbane to organise your charter flight out to the island from your preferred place of mainland departure.

Alternatively if you own or operate aircraft you may wish to fly yourself if you plan to stay on the island.

The other alternative is travel by boat, making your own arrangements – though this is not recommended due to changing weather conditions & seas, and the unreliable dirt access road on the mainland.

Please see ‘Airstrip Information’ for more information.
